A distress message was sent from a distress beacon (ELT) after a light plane went down just past the runway in New South Wales, Australia.

The data received from the beacon transmission all indicated that it was near to the airport.

The pilot, aged 25 and a passenger, also 25, were injured in the crash. A witness thought that it was a drone, and watched it roll and heard an explosion.

Crash investigators are looking into the causes of the crash.
