An EPIRB activated 500 km north of Cape Verde islands alerted JRCC Sweden Rescue, a SPOC to NMCC Bodø, at 20.54 UTC on 18 April with information from Cospas Sarsat/MEOSAR (NOCR) .
The sailing yacht had rudder problems and was also taking on some water.
JRCC Sweden Rescue contacted RCC Cape Verde and MRCC Madrid to offer help to establish contact with the yacht.
Later on, RCC Cape Verde coordinated an assisting ship to the distress position and the persons on board were evacuated in good shape.
