Two walkers, aged 49 and 55, waited two days for the high waters of the rain-flooded Gordon River to subside, but were forced to activate their PLB when the river continued to rise.
It was the third time in two days that the Westpac Rescue helicopter from Tasmania had been used to rescue walkers in the state.
