Twenty-Eight Rescued from Fishing Vessel in Japan

On 1 February 2015, JAMCC received a 406-MHz alert transmitted by a Japanese fishing vessel.

The vessel had a registered EPIRB and the Cospas-Sarsat supporting alert data led the JCG to dispatch a patrol vessel and an aircraft to the scene.

233 NM south-southeast of Daio Headland, Mie Prefecture in Japan, they found and rescued all twenty-eight crew members from the OTOSHIROMARU No.7, which had been taking on water.
