Tasmania Walking Group Activates PLB

A walking group from the University of Tasmania activated their PLB (not EPIRB . . .) when a woman in their group fell down a 6m embankment on their return, injuring her ankle and shoulder.

Poor weather prevented the Westpac helicopter tasked to rescue her and a walking party of members of SES, Tasmania Ambulance Service, Land Search and Rescue, along with police attended and extracted the injured walker.
